Gleason Marshall Hodges
Gleason Marshall Hodges, 82, of Mt. Vernon died 7:54 a.m. February 23, 1996, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center. He was employed at Mt. Vernon Truck Body Company for several years and as a painter and later at Mt. Vernon Township High School in the maintenance department as a painter. Mr. Hodges was born July 21, 1913, in Jefferson County, a son of Alfred and Florence (Ingram) Hodges. August 31, 1937, in St. Charles, Missouri, he married Ruth Martha Wetzer, who survives. Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Buss Hart officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Those attending the services on Sunday are asked to go directly to the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home. Mr. Hodges is survived by his wife his wife, Ruth Martha Hodges of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Kay Duncan and husband Carl of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Jeffrey Duncan and wife Mary Beth of St. Louis, Missouri; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Pat Hodges of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Moose Lodge 755. Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clarence Hodges and Stanley Hodges; and a sister, Leatha Morgan."
