Carroll "C. L." Hoffman
Carroll "C. L." Hoffman, 56, of Centralia died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005. at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion. He was born March 3, 1949, in Mt. Vernon, son of Gilbert and Edna (Weatherford) Hoffman. He married Kathie Bruns on July 2, 1973, and she survives in Centralia. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hoffman is survived by two sons, Vincent Hoffman and friend Nesha Bempsey and Jason Hoffman and wife Heather, all of Centralia; a daughter, Carol "Carrie" Evans of El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Melvin Hoffman and wife Jenette of Mt. Vernon and Ed Weatherford of Lewistown; three sisters, Donna McGovern of Mt. Vernon, Rosetta King of Mt. Vernon and Phyllis Henry and husband Gary of Bluford; and 12 grandchildren, Zackery Hoffman, Dustin Brown, Matalie Knox, Lacey Hoffman, Samantha Hoffman, Katie Hoffman, Preston Pennington and Jayce Pennington, all of Centralia, Mercedes Williams and Lundsay Hoffman both of Sandoval, Izabel Evans of El Paso, Texas, and Alyssa Hoffman of Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Blaine Hoffman. Mr. Hoffman was an auto mechanic. He was a Vietnam War veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Centralia and the Moose Lodge of Centralia. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix with the Rev. Virgil Downen officiating. After the services, his body will be cremated. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
