Mrs. Elizabeth Hoffman Dies

Elizabeth Rae Hoffmann, widow of Jacob J. hoffmann, died in her 88th year at her home 718 Salem road at 8:30 am Sunday.

Funeral services will be held in Myers chapel Tuesday at 3 pm in charge of the Rev. W. W. haravey and burial will be held in Oakwood cemetery. Mrs. hoffmann was a member of the Primitive church at Waltonville.

She was born July 13, 1858, in the old town of Winfield in Jefferson county, the daughter of John R. and Esther (Fitzgerrell) Knowles.

Her husband died in 1930 and a daughter, Mrs. Eliza Deichmamn also preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sons, G.E. Hoffmann, Lincoln, Ill.; John Hoffman, Mt. Vernon; J.W. Hoffman, Bloomington; two daughters, Mrs. W. E. Hill, Chicago, Mrs. Ida H. Smith, Mt. Vernon; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel.
