Wanda Lou (Harpole) Hood
Wanda Lou Hood, 81, of Okeechobee, Fla. and formerly of Mt. Vernon died 3:07 a.m. Jan. 13, 2003, at Columbia Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee, Fla. She was a homemaker and beautician. Mrs. Hood was born Oct. 2, 1921, in Mt. Vernon to Marsh and Izetta (Pemberton) Harpole. She married Gale Hood March 9, 1960, in Nashville; he survives. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home. Pastor Troy Warner will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home. In addition to her husband she is survived by three sons, Larry Prior and Freda of LaCenter, Ky., Lendell Prior and wife Jackie of Mt. Vernon, and Michael Hood and friend Amber of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Marjorie Earls of Mt. Vernon; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hood was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edwin Harpole and Elgin Harpole; and two sisters, Evelyn Deichman and Zelma Warren.
