Minnie Bell (Pigg) Hopper
Mrs. Minnie Bell Hopper, of 315 south Second street, died at 12:15 pm yesterday at Good Samaritan Hospital after a long illness. She was 73 years, four Months and 12 days of age. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm at the Pulley Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Morrison Bundy will conduct the services and burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Pulley Funeral Home where friends may call after 10 am Saturday. Mrs. Hopper was born April 3, 1884 in Jefferson county, the daughter of Granville H. and Frances Elizabeth Pigg. On June 27, 1902 she was married in Mt. Vernon to John C. Hopper, who survives. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Clarence and Elmer, both of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Alma Ruth Wyatt of Beecher, Ill., and Wilma Sursa of Mt. Vernon; seven grand- children; and two sisters, Della Dedman and Ethel Russell both of Mt. Vernon. Her parents, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
