Wanda G. Hopper, 84, of Mt. Vernon died 7:17 a.m. Aug. 18, 2005, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. She was an attendant at Quick Clean Laundry in Mt. Vernon; she retired in 1983.

Mrs. Hopper was born Aug. 18, 1921, in Jefferson County to Willie Ray Adams and Nora Bertha Robinson.

She married Thomas W. "Tommy" Hopper Feb. 22, 1947, in Mt. Vernon; he preceded her in death Oct. 12, 1991.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Everett Lemay will officiate. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Hopper is survived by two daughters, Judy Hopper and fiancé Andy Cluck of Dahlgren and Cheri Allen of Dahlgren; grandchildren Amy Hopper-Fuller of Mt. Vernon, Amber Hopper of Mt. Vernon, Thomas Allen of Dahlgren and Gary Don Allen Jr. of South Carolina; a brother, Charles Lee Adams Sr. and wife Beverly of Bluford; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Ronald Gene Mulvaney; and a brother, Walker H. Adams.

Mrs. Hopper was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.
