Double Funeral Set Friday For 2 Bluford Men Double funeral services will be held Friday for two Bluford brother-in-laws who died today - only seven hours apart. Rosier C. Russell, 71, died at 1:15 this morning at his home. At 8:30 this morning his brother-in-law, John Robert Howell, 80, who lived only three doors away, died at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Both Mr. Russell and Mr. Howell were retired employees of the Southern Railway Co. Mr. Russell was a railroad agent and Mr. Howell was a section foreman. Double funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Bluford Baptist Church, with burial to follow in East Hickory Hill cemetery, west of Bluford. Friends of Mr. Russell may call at the Richardson Chapel in Wayne City after 6:30 p.m., today and the body of Mr. Howell may be viewed there after 11 a.m. Thursday. At 1:00 p.m. Friday the bodies will be taken to the Bluford church to lie in state until the funeral hour. John Robert Howell was born October 13, 1878 in Jefferson County, the son of John and Mary (Harris) Howell. In 1900 he married to Nora Russell, who preceded him in death in 1935. He was later married to Nellie Jines, who survives. Surviving, besides is wife are a son, Everett Howell of Bluford and a stepdaughter, Georgia Borah of Sims. Rosier G. Russell was born November 24, 1886 in Jefferson county, the son of Thomas J, and Catherine (Irvin) Howell{s/b Russell} On January 13, 1914 he was married to Grace C. Brown, who survives. He was a member of the Bluford Baptist church.
