Maxine (Black) Hudson
Maxine Hudson, 91, of Mt. Vernon died 11:25 p.m. Dec. 25, 2003, at Mt. Vernon Care Center in Mt. Vernon. Prior to her retirement, she was a cook at Summersville Grade School and also a seamstress. Mrs. Hudson was born July 20, 1912, in Mt. Vernon to Warble Ewing and Julia Ann (Haley) Black. She married Bo Hudson in 1940 in St. Louis; he died Jan. 12, 1999. Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hopewell Cemetery in Jefferson County. The Rev. Robert F. Freytag will officiate. Those attending this service are asked to go directly to the cemetery on Sunday. No public visitation will be held. Mrs. Hudson is survived by a son, Thomas Hudson of Salem; grandchildren Crystal Pierce and husband Jason of Mt. Vernon, Ian Myers of Whitehall, Wis.; and great-grandchildren Miranda Myers of Whitehall, Wis., and Jeffery Myers of Whitehall, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Mrs. Hudson was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Women, the Dorcas class and the St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary.
