Harper H. Huff
Harper H. Huff, 81, Wayne City, died 11:05 a.m. Jan. 11, 1989, at John Cochran Veterans Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Huff was a retired school bus driver and a retired state highway employee. Mr. Huff was born Aug. 14, 1907, in Bluford, a son of Oscar and Martha Ann (Davis) Huff. He married Sib Huff, who died Sept. 16, 1974. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City with the Rev. RichardMcCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Thomason Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Huff is survived by one son, Rick Huff of Racine, Wis.; and three granddaughters. Mr. Huff was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Wayne City Masonic Lodge No. 759. Mr. Huff was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Sylvia's memorial has a scanned newspaper clipping which I have transcribed below: STATE CENTER - Mr. and Mrs. Cecil huff of State Center and his son Caroll Huff of Moline, Ill. attended the funeral Thursday of Cecil's sister-in-law, Mrs. Sylvia Darlene Huff, 69, of Wayne City, Ill., who died at her home Monday evening, Sept 16 of an apparent heart attack. Burial was in Thomason cemetery at Wayne City. She is survived by her widower, Harper H. Huff, a son, a brother and three sisters, and also a granddaughter. On the way home, the Huffs stopped at Lincoln's Tomb at Springfield and at other points of interest. |
