BOY KILLED BY TRAIN

Frank Hughey Ground to Pieces By L,& N. Train Sunday Night Near Belle Rive

Frank Hughey, the 18 year old son of John Hughey, was killed by a train on the Louisville & Nashville Railroad sometime between 10 o'clock Sunday night and at an early hour Monday Morning, but it is generally thought that he was struck by the passenger train that passes Belle Rive about midnight.

The body was found by a rural mail carrier Monday morning, and it was in a terribly cut up condition. The head and shoulders were found on the oustide of the track, and the lower part of the body on the outside quite a distance apart. For more than 100 feet parts of the body were scattered along the track.

The last known of the young man's movements were about 10'o clock Sunday night, when he left Miss Grace Williamson, at Dahlgren, and started, so he told her to a hotel. He had been riding with Miss Williamson during the evening."He intended going to Mt. Vernon Monday," said Miss Williamson at the inquest. The belief is that he was coming up here to attend the fair.

Coroner Whitlock was called to Belle Rive to conduct the inquest, and the verdict of the jury was that he came to his death by being run over by a railroad train. The accident occurred about a mile east of Belle Rive.
