Cal Humphrey Dies at Age 79; Funeral Sunday Cal Humphrey, of Mt. Vernon township, died at 5:30 pm yesterday at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital. His age was 79 years, one month and 26 days. Mr. Humphrey was a farmer and carpenter. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm at the East Salem Baptist church, with the Rev. Cash Lowery and the Rev. Cyrus maulding officiating. Burial will be in East Salem cemetery. The body will remain at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dex until 6:00 pm today, then will be removed to the family home, where friends may call at any time until the funeral hour.
Mr. Humphrey was the son of William H. and Florena (Warren) Humphrey. He was married, in 1897, to Stella Lisenby, who survives. Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mona Bean and Mrs. Leota Mick, both of Benton, and Mrs. Vermadel Peavier of Joplin, Mo.; and one sister, Mrs. Tillie Halbrook. He was preceded in death by one son, Earl, two daughters, Beulah Humphrey and Mrs. Aline Green, and three sisters.
