Mary Louise (Bancroft) Hutchcraft
Mary Louise Hutchcraft, 89, of Mt. Vernon and formerly of Dahlgren, died at 7:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at White Oaks Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon. She was born March 16, 1918, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Harry Lee and Ethel (Eller) Bancroft. She married James E. Hutchcraft; he preceded her in death. Mrs. Hutchcraft was a retired U.S. Postal Service clerk, having worked at the Dahlgren Post Office for 24 years. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren with the Revs. Charles McCormick and Kenneth Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Richardson Hill Cemetery near Dahlgren. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today (Saturday) at the funeral home. Mrs. Hutchcraft is survived by a brother, Harry J. Bancroft, and a sister, Mildred Scrivner, both of Mt. Vernon. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Roy Hutchcraft; and one sister, Helen Hotmeister. Mrs. Hutchcraft was a member of Belle Rive Eastern Star and Dahlgren Baptist Church.
