Fred Hutchison
Fred HUTCHISON, well known retired Mt. Vernon merchant, died Monday morning at the hospital in Grant Park, Ill. Mr. Hutchison who resided at 304 north Fourth street, was 83 years 9 months and 13/18 days of age. Due to ill health, Mr. and Mrs. Hutchison went to Grant Park about a month ago to spend the winter with their daughter, Mrs. Leota DOWELL. Mr. Hutchison was stricken with bronchial pneumonia ten days ago and his condition became critical last weekend. The body will be brought from the Grant Park Funeral Home directly to Epworth Methodist church here for funeral services which will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. The Rev Roscoe R. HOLLIS will officiate and burial will be in Opdyke cemetery. Because of ill health, his wife will be unable to attend the funeral. Mr. Hutchison was born December 23, 1871 in Mt. Vernon, the son of Sanford and Mary Jane (YEARWOOD) Hutchison. On May 22, 1898 he was married to Cora Louise PAYNE, who survives. Mr. Hutchison spent most of his lifetime as a resident of Jefferson county. Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Leota Dowell of Grant Park, Ill., and one sister, Mrs. Effie YONKE of San Diego, Calif. A daughter, Leona, died in infancy. His brother, Claude, died this summer.
