W. B. "Ben" Hutchison
W. B. "Ben" HUTCHISON, of 801 south 17th street, died at 8:45 Saturday night at Good Samaritan Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past ten days. Mr. Hutchison, a former employee of the C & E I Railroad and Beekman Truck Service, was 75 years, 2 months and 4 days of age. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Eugene HOLCOMB will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Hutchison was born July 12, 1887 in Mt. Vernon, the son of William R. and Lizzie (MILLER) Hutchison. He was a lifetime resident of this community. On June 17, 1911 he was married to Gertrude COWGER, who preceded him in death in 1960. He was a member of the First Baptist church. Surviving are one son, Leslie Hutchison of Hawthorne, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Marina H. PALMER of Houston, Tex.; one brother, Clyde Hutchison of Marion; one sister, Mrs. Margaret HILL of Mt. Vernon; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A son, Robert, preceded him in death.
