Carl J. Isaacs
Carl J. Isaacs, 72, of Bonnie died 11:52 a.m. Aug. 29, 2005, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was a painter. Mr. Isaacs was born July 3, 1933, in Benton to Carl Gentry and Rosie Marie (Gibbs) Isaacs. He married Betty (Glasco) Williams Feb. 22, 2002, in Bonnie; she survives. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Jesse Allen will officiate. Burial will follow in Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Mr. Isaacs is survived by his wife, Betty Isaacs of Bonnie; three sons, Donald Isaacs, Gary Isaacs and Carl J. Isaacs Jr.; a daughter, Karen Ogilive and husband Dave of Indiana; four stepdaughters, Diana Higgins and husband David of Waltonville, Karen Fields and husband Gene of Dahinda, Debbie Webb and husband Harvey of Mt. Vernon and Tammy Reeker and husband Alan of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; a brother, George "Barney" Isaacs of Florida; and a sister, Madge Hayes and husband Ron of Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Mr. Isaacs attended Bonnie Church of God. He served in the Korean Conflict. He was like a father to his stepchildren. He loved country music and was active in church work. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society and will be accepted at Johnston Funeral Home.
