Edward M. Jackson
Edward jackson Dies At Bluford; Rites Thursday Edward M. Jackson died at 6:15; this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clyde Ellis, on Route 3, Bluford. He was 58, years three months and four days of age. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m., at the Oakdale church. The Rev. Bird Green will officiate and burial will be in Oakdale cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Osborn Funeral Home at Dix, where friends may call after 7:00 p.m. today. Mr. Jackson was born April 30, 1901 at Bluford, the son of Alfred Morton and Etta Jane (Davis) Jackson. His first wife, Stella Mildred Jackson, died March 25, 19__ (See note below). He was later married to Nellie Brookman, who survives. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Jackson of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Oliver M. of Mt. Vernon and Carl D. of Aurora, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Floyd Fleehart of Sterling, Colo., and Mrs. Clyde Ellis of Bluford; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Ray of DeKalb, Ill., and George of Montgomery, Ala.; and two sisters, Mrs. P.R. Richards of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Loise Purdue of Pensacola, Fla. A son preceded him in death.
