Martha Jackson
Martha Jackson, 78, New York City and late of Chicago, died at noon Thursday at Warren G. Barr Pavilion at Chicago. She was born July 2, 1907, in Makanda, a daughter of Marion and Viva (Stephenson) Jackson. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hopewell Cemetery with Bruce Hough officiating. There will be no visitation and Hughey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Those attending the graveside services are asked to go directly to the cemetery Sunday. She is survived by one son, John Aubrey of Chicago; three grandchildren, Emily Aubrey, Gwyneth Aubrey and Elizabeth Aubrey, all of Chicago; one sister, Dorothy Cornett of Lexington, Ky.; three brothers, William Jackson of Joliet, Bond Jackson of San Diego, and Robert Jackson of Vallejo, Calif.; and several distant relatives in the Mt. Vernon area. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mary Andrews, and one brother, David Jackson. She was a retired nurse.
