Ida D. Johnson
Ida D. JOHNSON, daughter of Abraham C and Frances E JOHNSON, was born January 19, 1871, in Jefferson county, Illinois, and died after a painful illness of nearly a year's duration, of that dreaded disease, consumption, July 17, 1899, at 2 a.m., aged 28 years 5 months and 28 days. She joined the M.E. church on probation at Pleasant Grove in February 1892, and on the 18th of September '92 was received in full connection in the church. Four brothers, Thearon N., Albert, Clarence and Willard, (the last two are attendants in the hospital at Kankakee) and four sisters, Mrs. Minnie MAIN, of Delaware, Ohio; Iva, of St. Louis; and Jennie and Clara to mourn their loss with a host of relatives and friends. The mother and one sister have preceded her to the better world. The funeral was conducted by the writer, her pastor at Pleasant Grove, July 18th at 10:30 o'clock a.m. and the body was laid to rest in Old Union cemetery.
