Ralph Irvin Johnson
Funeral services for Ralph Irvin Johnson were to be conducted at 2:00 pm today at the Pulley-Gutzler Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Everett Lemay officiating. Burial was to be in Hopewell Cemetery. Mr. Johnson, of 818 Park Avenue, died at 1:15 pm Tuesday in Good Samaritan Hospital at the age of 74 years, five months and one day. He was a retired employee of a state institution. Mr. Johnson was born June 9, 1890, in Jefferson county, the son of Alphonso (Alfonso) and Cora E. (Chastien) Johnson. On March 7, 1921, he was married to Nellie Whitsell, who preceded him in death on May 16 of this year. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter. He is survived by a son, Roy Johnson of Elkhart. Ind.; two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Bush of Royalton, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Cloyd of Cicero, Ill.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Opal Shepard and Mrs. Ruth Hazleton; a step-father, Troy Rogers, all of Robinson; and six grandchildren. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church.
