Walker E. Johnson
Walker E. JOHNSON, of Bonnie, died at the home of his son, Harry JOHNSON, 725 Conger, at 1 p.m. Saturday. He was born June 18, 1888 in Wayne County, the son of Wiley and Susan (GODDARD) JOHNSON. At the time of his death he was 63 years, nine months and 11 days of age. Mr. JOHNSON was a farmer. He held membership in the New Hope Baptist Church near Spring Garden where funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today, with the Rev. David GODDARD in charge. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery. Mr. JOHNSON was married March 14, 1912 to Lula M. MURPHY, in Ewing. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Harry of Mt. Vernon; Ralph of Edwardsville; and Curren of Beason, Ill.; two brothers, Luther of West Frankfort and J. Frank of Mt. Vernon; and seven grandchildren. His parents and a sister are dead. He had been in failing health for a year and critically ill the past month.
