Henry Warren Jones
Henry Warren Jones of 209 south Sixth street, who was wood mill foreman at the Mt. Vernon Car Company for 48 years, died at 2:15 pm Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 86 years, five months and 20 days of age. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm at Myers Chapel and burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Masonic services will be head at 7:30 pm Friday at Myers Chapel. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel, where friends may call after 4:00 pm Friday. Mr. Jones was born November 25, 1876 in Pottowattamie county, Iowa, the son of Joseph H. and Sarah (Barkalow) Jones. He was a resident of Mt. Vernon for 65 years. Mr. Jones was a member of the Masonic Lodge. On September 30, 1900 he was married, in Mt. Vernon, to Ida Estella Maxey, who died November 14, 1960. Mr. Jones is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Walter Pilson of Mt. Vernon, and a grandson, Ted Allen Pilson of Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three children and one brother.
