Olive (Haney) Jones
Lifelong Resident Dies At Age of 86 Olive Jones, of 309 South 11th street, a lifelong resident of Jefferson county, died yesterday at 7 pm in Alton, Ill., where she had been for the past three weeks. Her age at the time of death was 86 years and 13 days. Funeral services will be held next Thursday at 2 pm in Myers chapel. The Reverend Acel Robinson will conduct the services and burial will be at Flint cemetery. Mrs. Jones was born in Jefferson county in 1860, the daughter of Walter Aswell Haney and Sarah (Williamson) Haney. Her husband, the former Granville Jones, died in 1890. She is survived by two sons, Louis Jones of East St. Louis, and George Jones of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Mrs. Maud Allen of East St. Louis, and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The boy will lie in state at Myer's chapel.
