Taisha Monique Jones, 18, Mt. Vernon, passed away on Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at Carle Hospital in Champaign.

She was born in Mt. Vernon on Aug. 28, 1988, the daughter of Joe W. and Roberta (Long) Jones. She was a student.

Taisha is survived by her parents, Joe and Roberta of Mt. Vernon; brothers, Fernandus Jones, Barrett Jones, Ernesto Jones, and sisters, Rashieda Jones, Ania Jones, Siedah Jones, Asshaunte Martin, all of Mt. Vernon; paternal grandmother, R.V. Wright of Grenada, Miss., and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by one sister, one brother and her grandparents.

Visitation will be held 9 a.m. Thursday at Jackson Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with family members officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of the Jackson Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
