Melissa Katherine KIRK, 79, died at 3 a.m. today at her home in Elk Prairie Township on Bonnie R.F.D. 1. She was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County.

Funeral Services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the Elk Prairie Christian Church. The Rev. Ervin P. HAYES will conduct the services and burial will be in Abner Cemetery. The body will be taken from Myers' Chapel to the home at 4:30 p.m. today.

Mrs. KIRK was born September 28, 1865 in Elk Prairie, the daughter of James and Martha (HUDSON) HODGE.

She was married to J. M. KIRK in May 1889.

Her husband survives. Besides her husband, she is survived by two brothers, Ed HODGE of Sesser, Ill.; and Quincy HODGE of Waltonville; one sister, Mrs. Carrie FRED of Denver, Colo.
