Melba A. Lamczyk, 70, of Dix, died at 11 am Nov. 8, 1993, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

She was born Sept. 30, 1923, in Jefferson County, a daughter of Frank and Harriett (Drew) Huffstutler.

In 1942, in Jefferson County, she married Robert J. Carlton Sr., who died in 1983.

Services will be 1 pm Thursday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Bob Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.

Visitation is after 6 pm today at the funeral home.

She was a member of Victory Christian Center in Mt. Vernon.

Surviving are a son, Robert J. Carlton Jr. of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Jan Boldrey and husband Kenneth, of Effingham, and Roberta Smith of Oswego; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley Huffstutler of Champaign and Farrell Huffstutler of Peoria; a sister, Mae White of McLeansboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson, Bruce Smith, and one sister-in-law.
