Ruby Idella (Shelton) Lane
Mrs. Ruby Lane of Near Bluford Dies Here Today Mrs. Ruby Idella Lane, wife of Sam Lane died at 8:10 a.m. today at Mt. Vernon Hospital. Her age was 37 years, seven months and 19 days. Mrs. Lane resided south of Bluford in Webber township. Funeral services, conducted by the Reverend Cash Lowry, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Hickory Hill church and burial will follow in the nearby cemetery. The body will remain at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix until 6 p.m. Saturday then will be taken to the family home. Friends may call at any time up to the funeral hour. Mrs. Lane was the daughter of Lewis and Trudy Bruce Shelton. In 1920, she was united in marriage with Sam Lane, who survives. Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Trudy Shelton; one daughter, Norma Jean Lane, at home; four sons, Virgil Roy, Vernon Calvin, Verdon and Harvey, all at home; six brothers, Harvey Shelton of Bluford, Raymond Shelton of Opdyke, Floyd, Foster and Lester Shelton of Mt. Vernon and Ronald, who is in the U. S. Army; and one sister, Alice May Shields in Michigan City, Ind. One daughter, Venita, preceded her in death.
