Wayne City Man Killed On Highway Wilbert Rance Lane, 61, of Wayne City, was killed Tuesday evening when the auto he was driving collieded with a truck-trailer unit about three miles north of Fairfield. The drive and a passenger in the truck were not believed to have been seriously injured, state police said. The truck driver was Larry Harvel, 20, of Noble, and his passenger was Lawrence Connerly, 40, of Flora. Funeral services for Mr. Lane will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, at Wayne City Christian church of which he was a member, with the Rev. Charles Webb officiating. Burial will be in Thomason cemetery near Wayne City. The body will lie in state at Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City, where friends may call after 5:30 p.m. today. Mr. Lane was born in Wayne County, July 15, 1906, the son of P. A. and Ora (Rainwater) Lane. On April 15, 1936, he mararied Verda Cates, who survives. Other wurvivors include a brother, Leslie Lane of Owaneco, Ill.; and six sisters, Mrs. Louise Knauss of Hammond, Ind., Mrs. helen Jonson of Los Angeles, Cal., Mrs. Ruth Wood of Keenes, Mrs. Glady Wilson, Mrs. Rena McKinney, and Mrs. Vera Scott, all of Wayne City.
