Verner Nolan Lenington
Verner Nolan Lenington, 61, Route 1, died 10 a.m. Sept. 10, 1988, in Waltonville. Mr. Lenington was a coal miner. Mr. Lenington was born July 30, 1927, in Jefferson County, a son of Neal and Hildred (Fairchild) Lenington. Dec. 24, 1946, in Morganfield, Ky., he married Maxine Panzier, who survives. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Fry-Frick Funeral Home in Waltonville with the Rev. Dan Dorris officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. In addition to his wife, Mr. Lenington is survived by his stepmother, Nola Lenington of Belle Rive; one son Sidney Lenington of Bonnie; one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Glenda) Chastain of Mt. Vernon; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Neal Lenington of Danville, Ky.; three sisters, Audrey Merriman of Creve Coeur, Helen Bozarth of Peoria and Maida Henson of Lafayette, Ind. Mr. Lenington was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of VFW Post 9153 in Waltonville and AMVETS and American Legion of Mt. Vernon. He was also a member of Long Prairie christian Church. Mr. Lenington was preceded in death by his parents, a stepfather and one brother.
