Thomas Alfred Leuty
Thomas Alfred LEUTY, a Field Township livestock dealer, farmer and carpenter, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mattie Myers of Texico. His age was 86 years, nine months and 15 days. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Myers Chapel. The Rev. C. I. Heflin of Kell will officiate and burial will be in Panther Fork Cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call at any time until the funeral hour. Mr. Leuty was born December 16, 1863 in Dix, the son of Azariah and Elizabeth (McConnell) Leuty. He was a lifetime resident of Jefferson County. He was married to Lillie McDaniel, who preceded him in death January 5, 1949. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mattie Myers of Texico; one son, Joel A. Leuty of Salem; two sisters, Mrs. Tince Murphy and Mrs. Curt Ellis of Centralia; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
