Rose Marilyn Linn, 74, of Mt. Vernon died 7:30 a.m. May 2, 2006, at White Oak Rehabilitation Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon.

She was employed as a bookkeeper for over 40 years at First Bank and Trust of Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Linn was born Feb. 24, 1932, in Jefferson County to Ray Gardner and Mae (Wilson) Gardner.

She married Harmon Linn and he preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 1985.

Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Old Union Cemetery in Mt. Vernon with J. Howard Kraps and Randy Sells officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

She is survived by two sons, Doug Linn and wife Nancy of Mt. Vernon and Mark Linn of Mt. Vernon; grandson, Anthony Bo Linn of Woodlawn; sister, Ila Mae Smith and husband Sam of Aurora; niece, Cheryl Planz and husband Michael of Aurora; nephews, Sammy Smith and wife Monica of Oswego, Craig Smith and Gary Smith and wife Sandy, all of Aurora. Her parents, husband,and one brother, Jack Gardner, preceded her in death.

Marilyn was a member of Central Christian Church in Mt. Vernon and she loved to shop with her friends and family.
