Sarah Ann (Howell) Littleton

Sarah Ann Howell Littleton was born March 19, 1854, departed this life August 26, 1929.

She was married to William Littleton in March 1880.

To this union were born seven children, three having died in infancy; four are living: Mrs. Laura Green, John and Maude Littleton of Bluford and Mrs. Dora Pate of Jacksonville, Ill.

One brother, Thomas Howell resides near Bluford.

Besides these, ten grandchildren and a host of friends mourn their loss.

She was left a widow in 1904 and remained so until death.

For a number of years she had been an invalid, unable to go out of the house. She was carefully and lovingly cared for by her children.

She was converted at the Hickory Hill Baptist Church at the age of sixteen. At the time of her death she was a member of the United Brethren Church of Bluford. She proved her faith in God by her patient suffering and submission to his will.

The services were conducted in the United Brethren Church. Rev. J.H. Osborn pastor of the church and Rev. Bird Green of the Baptist Church with interment at the Hickory Hill Cemetery.
