Harold Loman
James Harold Loman 66, Opdyke, died 5:30 a.m. Oct. 13, 1988, at his home. Mr. Loman was a retired farmer. Mr. Loman was born Aug. 12, 1922, in Waltonville, a son of James and Iva (Bradley) Loman. Feb. 1, 1945, in Jefferson County, he married Ruth Helen Gulley, who survives. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hughey Funeral Home with J. Howard Kraps officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill cemetery in Sesser. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. In addition to his wife Mr. Loman is survived by two sons , Jerry Loman and Michael Loman, both of Opdyke; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Diane) Montgomery of Sesser, Mrs. Alan (Marsha) Williford of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Doug (Nancy) Linn of Mt. Vernon; five brothers, Homer Loman of Sesser, Harrison Loman of Elkville, Bill Loman of Waltonville, Howard Loman of Chicago and Kenneth Loman of Bonnie; four sisters, Geraldine Wakup of Berwyn, Ina Whitsell of Mt Vernon, Donna Roberts of Sesser and Ruth Clevenger of Herrin; and four grandchildren. Mr. Loman was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific and New Guinea campaigns. He was a member of VFW Post 1376 and DAV of Mt. Vernon. Mr. Loman was a Protestant. Mr. Loman was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Max; and one sister, Betty June.
