Florence Lula (Oakley) Long
Mrs. Florence Lula LONG, died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at her home, 216 north Seventh street, at the age of 71 years, 9 months, and one day. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Andrew CARAKER will officiate and burial will follow in Oakwood cemetery. Mrs. LONG was born September 22, 1887 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of William Calvin and Diana (Maynor) Oakley. She was a lifetime resident of this community. On December 24, 1919 she was married to Arthur Long E. Long who survives. Mrs. Long was a member of the First Baptist Church. Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Keller RATHGEBAGHER of St. Louis; one stepson, Gleason Long of Mobile, Ala., one brother, Ambrose BEAGLE of Danville, Ill.; one sister, Mary JOHNSON of Mt. Vernon; and two grandchildren.
