Norval M. Marlow
Norval M. (Nob) Marlow, 82, of Mt. Vernon died 6:10 p.m. Jan. 5, 1997 at his home. He was a retired supervisor at Vernois Inc. and was a farmer. Mr. Marlow was born Feb. 26, 1914, in Tamms, a son of Raleigh E. and Jeanette (Reed) Marlow. Oct. 27, 1934, in Brownstown, he married Ellnetta McDermott, who survives. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff VanDyke officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hughey Funeral Home. Mr. Marlow is survived by his wife, Ellnetta Marlow of Mt. Vernon; sons, Mark Marlow and wife Sharon and Larry Marlow and wife Debbie; daughter, Marcella Payne and husband Robert of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Thomas Marlow and wife Michelle, Jason Marlow and wife Monica, Travis Marlow, Ryan Marlow, Tim Marlow and wife Tracy, Mary Lynn Marlow, Justin Payne, Jessica Payne, Jeremy Payne, Jared Payne, Ken Dare and wife Barbara, Carrie Dare and Rachel Breeze; four great-grandchildren; brother, George Marlow of O'Fallon, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Masonic Lodge 31 AF & AM. Mr. Marlow was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, D'Ella Breeze and Carol Marlow; a granddaughter, Lana Dare; one brother; and two sisters. For those who wish memorials may be made to the Epworth United Methodist Church and will be accepted at the Hughey Funeral Home. Source: Mt.
