Ray Maxey
Ray Maxey of Bluford Dies; Funeral Today Funeral services for Ray Maxey were conducted at 2 p.m. today at Oakdale Church north of Bluford, with Rev. Roscoe Hutchcraft and Rev. Ernie Tate officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Maxey, 61 of Bluford, died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Good Samaritan hospital. He was born in Jefferson County on Dec. 8, 1897, the son of Albion T. and Louisa (Wiggins) Maxey. In 1918, he was married to Mae McCord, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Noble and Donald Maxey of Bluford; three daughters, Mrs. Pauline Braddock and Mrs. Lucy Chambliss, both of Bluford, and Mrs. Verla Mae Steward of Omaha, Neb; one brother, Chancy Maxey of Bluford, a sister, Mrs. Nellie Cameron of Harvey, Ill, and 21 grandchildren.
