Robert E. "Bob" Mick
(includes photo) Robert E. "Bob" MICK, 69, of Mt. Vernon died 2:18 a.m. July 4, 2003, at St. Mary's/Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Mr. MICK retired in 1992 from the State of Illinois as an oil well inspector with the Department of Oil and Gas. He was born Aug. 22, 1933, in Hamilton County to Warner and Beulah (DAVIS) MICK. On April 9, 1958, he married Pauline J. BENNETT in Mt. Vernon. Services are set for 1 p.m. Sunday at the Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert SLEDGE officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is set for 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Hughey Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Pauline J. MICK of Mt. Vernon; sons Robert Dean MICK of Mt. Vernon, Norman Ray MICK and companion Audrey KIMBRO of Sesser and Larry Omen MICK and wife Jerri of Mt. Vernon; daughter Venita Lynn WALLACE and husband Brian of Johnston City; grandchildren Jami and Jennifer TATE of Johnston City, Casey and Ashley Dean MICK of Mt. Vernon, and Alicia KIMBRO and Bryce KIMBRO of Sesser; great-grandsons Jacob and Matthew MICK of Mt. Vernon and Noah BLISS of Johnston City; brother Don MICK of Bonnie; sisters Mabel Faye RANEY of Mt. Vernon and Mary BUCHANAN of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two half-brothers. Mr. MICK was a member of Logan Street Baptist Church and American Legion Post 141 of Mt. Vernon. He served in the U.S. Army. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Home Health Nurses and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt.
