Lula Emily Miller
Lula Emily Miller, 81, No. 8 Doctors Park Road, died at 5 pm Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday at Hopewell Cemetery, with the Rev. Billy G. Hahs officiating. Friends may call at Myers-Baril Chapel after 5:30 pm Friday. Eastern Star services will be held at 7:30 pm Friday. Miss Miller was born Aug. 20, 1897, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Edgar and Carrie (Reynar) Miller. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Mt. Vernon Chapter Order of Eastern Star; past High Priestess of the Mt. Vernon Chapter of White Shrine of Jerusalem and was a 50-year member of both organizations. She was also a member of Faith Court of Amaranth and a former Sunday School teacher at First United Methodist Church.Miss Miller worked as bookkeeper at Mammoth Department Store. She is survived by one brother, Dr. Roy G. Miller of Mt. Vernon and by two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
