Kathryn (Wood) Mitchell
Mrs. J. E. Mitchell Dies in Oklahoma The body of Mrs. Kathryn Mitchell, wife of John E. Mitchell and a former resident of Opdyke, will arrive at the Myers chapel, 122 North Tenth street, Sunday morning from Oklahoma City, Okla., where Mrs. Mitchell died yesterday. She had been ill about a year. Surviving in addition to the husband are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Wood of Opdyke; three brothers, Lloyd and Roy of Opdyke and Fred A. Of Bluford. Mrs. Mitchell formerly was employed in the Sexton Manufacturing Co. plant in Mt. Vernon and will be remembered by many as Sadie Wood. She had lived in Oklahoma City about five years. Funeral services will be held at the M.E. church in Opdyke at two o'clock Monday afternoon. Burial will be made in the Opdyke cemetery. Sarah Kathryn Wood, daughter of James A. and Alice Wood, was born near Opdyke, Ill., August 25, 1903. She passed away at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, July 26, 1935, Age, 31 years, 11 months and one day. She became a christian at the age of 11 years and united with the Methodist church at Opdyke, where she retained her membership until death. While in Oklahoma City she was a faithful worker in the Maywood Christian church. She was united in marriage to John E. Mitchell, July 2, 1930. She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, John E. Mitchell; her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. James A. Wood; three brothers, Loyd, Fred and Roy, and a host of relatives and friends. To know Kathryn was to love her.

Rev. Motzer and Rev. Green for the consoling words, and all who helped in any way during the sickness and death of our loved one. Also for the many beautiful floral offerings.
