The funeral of Alexander MOBLEY was conducted at the M. E. Church on Friday, March 8, by Rev. SHERIDAN, of Mt. Vernon.

Those from out of town attending the funeral were, Mrs. Ina KULL of Sparta; Mrs. Ida EPPERSON and son, of McLeansboro; Rev. SHERIDAN, wife and little daughter and Tazewell CARPENTER, of Mt. Vernon; Mrs. Jas. W. ESTES, of St. Louis; Isaac JONES, of Wayne City, and Horton COMBS and wife, of the Hebron neighborhood.

Alexander MOBLEY was born in Gallatin County, October 21, 1838, and departed this life at his home in Opdyke, Ill., March 7, 1912, at the age of 73 years, 4 months, and 16 days.

He was united in marriage to Virginia PERKINS, May 25th, 1861. To this union six children were born, three boys and three girls, four of whom have preceded him to their home beyond. Eliza, James W., Ross and Benjamin, the four having died in early childhood. Two children of this union survive him, Mrs. Ollie J. HUBER, of Kansas City, and W. T., of Opdyke, Ill.

His first wife departed this life February 19, 1881.

He was married to Maggie BOYD, of Gallatin County, August 19, 1884. To this union one child was born, John Hector of Camp Jossman, Phillipine Islands. His second wife died January 27, 1887.

He was married to Catherine WILKERSON, with whom, as a faithful and loving companion, the latter part of his life was spent in contentment.

He was a member of the Methodist Church at Asbury, Gallatin County, Ill., having united with this church more than forty years ago. He was an ardent christian, a faithful husband and a kind and indulgent father, possessed of a quiet and peaceful spirit and lived his life without having any known enemies. He bore his sufferings with patience and fortitude.

He leaves a companion, two sons, one daughter, two step-daughters, and one step-son, one brother and three sisters, many relatives and friends to mourn their loss, but they sorrow not as those who have no hope, for the blessed are the dead who died in their Savior.

Dear father and friend, we shall never more be permitted to behold they kindly countenance nor be the recipients of they generous counsel, but blessed be God, death will lift the veil and permit us to look beyond this veil of tears and behold thy countenance glorified. Funeral was conducted by Rev. S. O. SHERIDAN.
