Lois Moore, 84 for Mount Vernon died at 10:15 am Jan. 14, 2006, at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

She worked for many years as a sales clerk in the Mt. Vernon area for the Singer Store, Coast to Coast, IGA and Wonder Bread.

Mrs. Moore was born Aug. 31, 1921, in Peeks to Isaac Alexander Ervin and Lutrecia (Gulley).

She married Byron Moore, Feb. 22, 1940; he preceded her in death Sept. 16, 1978.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. J. Howard Kraps will officiate. Burial will follow at West Salem Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 pm today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Moore is survived by a son, Bob Moore and wife Sally Jo of Greenwood, Mich.; a daughter, Ann Sneed of Dahlgren; four grandchildren, Byron Moore and wife Deborah of Wilmington, Mike Moore of Wilmington, Lisa Sneed of Mount Vernon and Lori Lenz of Bluford; Three great-granddaughters, Ashley Lenz, Amanda Lenz and Emily Kniffen; two great-great-grandchildren, Kelli and Kerri Moore; a sister, Marie Sadowski and Husband Matt of Philadelphia, Pa; and several nieces and nephews; including Dean Ervin of Pekin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers.

Mrs. Moore was a member of Central Christian Church, Rebekah Lodge, the Moose Lodge Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the AMVETS Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary, all of Mt. Vernon

For those who wish, memorials may be give to the West Salem Cemetery or Central Christian Church and will be accepted at the church or at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, PO Box 721, Mount Vernon, Illinois 62864
