Effie Morgan Of Bonnie Died At Age 79
Effie May Morgan, 79, Bonnie, died 5:33 p.m. Dec. 30 1988, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center. Mrs. Morgan was born Jan. 14, 1909, in Jefferson County, a daughter of Van and Martha (Rightnowar) Beckham. Nov. 16, 1925, in Mt. Vernon, she married Willie Morgan who preceded her in death. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hughey Funeral Home with Mr. Bill Newell and the Rev. David Mays officiating. Burial will follow in South Hickory Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Morgan is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Mike (Gloria) McNeil of Bonnie, Dorothy Mays of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Jim (Irma) Grant of Kansas City, Mo., and Maggie Ranson of Hornbeak, Tenn.; six sons, Dan Morgan and wife, Gerri, of Bonnie, Bill Morgan, Ira Morgan and wife, Edna, all of Kansas City, Mo., Lewis Morgan and wife, LeVeda, of Indepence, Mo., Ray Morgan and wife, Lorraine, of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Jim Morgan of Murphysboro; 48 grandchildren 60 great-grandchildren and four great-great-randchildren; three sisters, Opal Morgan and Nellie Clark, both of Mt. Vernon, and Nina Thompson of Benton; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Morgan was a member of Elk Prairie Christian Church and was active in women’s groups at church. Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, three sons, four daughters, seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
