H. A. Morgan of Route 3 Dies; Funeral Tuesday Harold A. Morgan of RFD 3 Mt. Vernon died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospital at the age of 64 years, five months, and 29 days. Mr. Morgan operated a welding and blacksmith shop. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Chapel with the Rev. Lewis DeSelms officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Prairie cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. today. Mr. Morgan was born May 29, 1900 in Jefferson County the son of Silas R. and Emma (Brooks) Morgan. In Mississippi on Feb. 23, 1923 he was married to Bertie E. Morgan who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Parker of San Diego California; two brothers Roy Morgan of Cowden, Ill, and Robert Morgan of Decatur, Ill.; and a sister Mrs. Gertrude L. Lower of Cowden, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Mr. Morgan was a member of the 100F Lodge. From July 14, 1919 to Aug. 24, 1921, He served as a private with the Coast Artillery.
