Mervin W. Moss
Mervin W. Moss, 67, 416 W. Menominee St., Belvidere died on Friday, May 5, 1989, in Rockford Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born January 29, 1922, in Jefferson County, the son of Lawrence and Margie Taylor Moss, Sr. Married to Mary J. Tracy in Mount Vernon, on December 14, 1945. He was employed as a tool and die maker, most recently by Warner Lambert Co., Rockford until 1987. A World War 2 Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army in European Theater. Lifetime member of John Hugo Kaiser VFW Post No. 1461, Belvidere. Survivors include his wife, Mary; one son Dale (Bonnie), Belvidere; two daughters, Linda (Cyrus) Khani, Wheaton, and Cindy (Carlos) Castro, Belvidere; a sister, Rose Clinton, Ina; a brother, Lawrence (Adeline) Moss, Jr., Belvidere; two grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, one sister, Cossie St. Clair, five brothers, Jess, John, Thomas, Taylor, and Alonzo Moss. Burial in Kirk Cemetery, Ina. Memorials have been established in his name.
