Delvin Mullinax
Delvin Mullinax, 64, of Mt. Vernon and a former resident of Lyndon, Kan., died 9:25 pm Jan. 15, 1995, at Casey Care Center in Mt. Vernon. He was born June 30, 1930, in Mt. Vernon, a son of Toll and Jewell (Dodson) Mullinax. Graveside services will be 10:30 am Wednesday at Hopewell Cemetery with the Rev. Buss Hart officiating. Those attending the graveside service are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Friends may call at Hughey Funeral Home 5 to 8 pm Tuesday. Mr. Mullinax is survived by a son, Rodney Mullinax of Indianapolis; three sisters, Grace Schmitt and husband David, Wanda Carpenter, and Violet Scarber, all of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Richard Mullinax and wife Ione of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Mullinax was an Army veteran serving four tours of service and a member of Casey Avenue Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William E. "Butch" Mullinax; and a sister, Mildred Bradshaw.
