Maude Murphy Dies at Age 65; Rites Saturday

Mrs. Maude Murphy, of 315 south First street, died yesterday afternoon at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital. Her age was 65 years, nine months and 11 days.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p. m. at the East Side Baptist church, with the Rev. Arthur Ward of Odin, Ill. officiating, and burial will be in Bethel Memorial cemetery. The body will remain at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, where friends may call until noon Saturday, when the body will be removed to the East Side Baptist church.

Mrs. Murphy was born October 16, 1884, the daughter of Sam and Ollie Kelch.

She was married 42 years ago to Frank Murphy, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Murphy was a member of the East Side Baptist church.

She is survived by two sons, James F. of Ina and Ernest of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Mrs. Olive Myers and Mrs. Loretta Lindelle, both of Mt. Vernon; two brothers, Pete and Elmer Kelch of New Richmond, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.
