Edward Fount Nelson

Edward Fount NELSON of RFD #2, Bluford, a veteran of World War 1, died at eight o'clock this morning at the Veteran's Hospital at Marion, Ill. His age was 50y 2m 20d.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the United Brethern Church in Bluford and burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel from 10 a.m. Thursday until 2 p.m. Thursday, then will be taken to the family home two miles southeast of Bluford, where friends may call at any time up until the funeral hour.

Mr. NELSON was born April 17, 1893 in Union County, Ill., the son of James M. and Martha (STEWART) NELSON.

On May 14, 1924 he was united in marriage with Alice POLLOCK, who survives.

During World War 1 he served with Co. A, 12th Engineers, as a Private First Class. He enlisted in the service June 5, 1917 and received his discharge on May 16, 1919. He was a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church.

Besides his widow, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Regina WILSON of Anna, Ill., and Mrs. Lula ADAMS of Balcom, Ill.; and two brothers, Claud A. NELSON of East St. Louis and Monroe E. NELSON of Bluford.
