Clyde Nolta
Clyde Nolta - Mt. Vernon Funeral services for Clyde Nolta, 66, of 800 S. 12th St., the owner of Harry's Market, will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist church, with Dr. Clyde Funkhouser officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. Friends may call at the Hughey-Pulley Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Thursday, and until 11 a.m. Friday. The body will be moved to the church at 11 a.m. Friday, to lie in state from noon until the funeral hour. Mr. Nolta died at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday. Mr. Nolta was born in Mt. Vernon on Oct. 18, 1906, the son of Herman and Lela (Davis) Nolta. He was married on April 7, 1928, in Mt. Vernon, to Thelma Bruce, who survives. He operated Harry's Market for 38 years until his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist church. Mr. Nolta is survived by his mother, Mrs. Lila Nolta, Mt. Vernon; his wife, Thelma; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Ann Smith, Titusville Fla.; three grandchildren; a brother, Clarence Nolta, Mt. Vernon; and five sisters, Mrs. Marie Waite, Mt, Vernon, Mrs. Anna Fleener, Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Mildred Marlow, Mt. Vernon, Miss Doris Nolta, Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Grace (sic.) Parkinson, Mt. Carmel. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.
