Richard Oakley
Richard O. OAKLEY, former resident of Mt. Vernon, died at 8 p.m. Saturday at his home in Richmond Heights, MO. A brother of Mrs. E. W. Threlkeld of 809 Harrison, he was 68 years of age. Mr. Oakley was born and reared in Mt. Vernon, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Oakley. He was formerly in the weatherstrip sales and manu-facturing business and at the time of his death operated a machine works engaged in the manufacture of electrically driven hand tools. An inventor, he designed both the products and the machines used to build them. He is survived by his wife, Leonora; one son, Richard; two daughters, Mrs. Earl HARRIS of Truth or Consequences, N. Mex. and Mrs.Joseph DeBROCK of Richmond Heights; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. in The Church of the Little Flower in Richmond Heights and burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, St. Louis.
