PETER P. OLOMON, departed this life May 11, 1906, aged 85 years and 16 days.

He was born in North Carolina in 1821 and when 24 years old came with his mother and two sisters to Jefferson County, and has lived in the immediate vicinity ever since.

He was married to Martha BAUGH in 1847. Eleven children were born to this union, six boys and five girls, two boys and one girl dying in infancy.

His companion dying in 1895, he was united in marriage to Lizzie HALL of Mt. Vernon. She and eight children survive him all being present at the time of his death.

The deceased made a profession of religion and united with the Christian church about 40 years ago and remained a member until death. He stated at the last moment he was ready to go. "Uncle Peter" was widely known in the county and counted his friends by entire communities wherever he was acquainted. He was honorable and upright in his dealings, was a kind and generous neighbor and an excellent citizen.
