William Osborne, 83, of Ina died 9:30 a.m. Aug. 30, 2004, at his home.

He was born in Vanwood, W.Va. on June 28, 1921, a son of Dennis and Lina Osborne.

He married Lorraine (Short) Osborne June 16, 1940, in Bristol, Tenn.; she died March 18, 2000.

Mr. Osborne was a veteran and a retired coal miner.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda Bennett and husband Herman of Ina; two sons, William F. Osborne and wife Shirley of Mt. Dora, Fla., and Dennis C. Osborne of Sandwich; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Maggie Lindsay of Statesville, N.C., Florence Schnider of Chicago and Frankie Eleanor Osborne of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorraine Osborne; a sister, Abby; and a brother, Chester.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnston Funeral Home in Ina, with the Rev. Brad Ryan officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 141 of Mt. Vernon will be at Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Johnston Funeral Home in Ina. For more information you may contact Johnston Funeral Home at 437-5335.
